UPDATED: Child Kidnapped From South Minneapolis Home

The child was abducted just before noon.

Update 4:18 p.m. 2/20/13: According to Minneapolis Police spokesperson Sgt. William Palmer's Twitter account, the child has been found safe and sound. Police also have a suspect in custody.

The following is an announcement from the Minneapolis Police Department:

Just before noon Minneapolis Police officers in the Third Precinct responded to a call from a mother reporting that she had left her 8 month old baby boy, Carlos Orozco, in his car seat in her apartment in the 2100 block of Portland Avenue South while she took a shower.  When she got out of the shower the child was gone.

Minneapolis Police Homicide Unit investigators are already assigned to this case and are asking for the public’s help in locating Carlos who is described as a not yet mobile Hispanic male dressed in a onesy with a blue and white body and red sleeves.  On the chest is the logo “#1 Slugger”.

Minneapolis Police have no suspect information at this time.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 911 immediately.
