Five Valentine's Day Activities In Southwest Minneapolis

We combed the streets to find five great events this Valentines's Day weekend for people of all ages.

Valentine's Day 5k

It will be hard to miss this event if you're anywhere near on Saturday, Feb. 11. Reputdedly Twin Cities' oldest winter running event, this race will course around the lake, closing the parkway from 7 a.m. to noon. egistration will be available, so grab your sweetheart and kick your Valentine's Day off early with a little sweat.

Make and Take a Valentine Box

Linden Hills' will be hosting this great family event on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a box, they say—they'll provide everything else you'll need to help your kids create a pretty holder for valentines from their classmates.

A Clay Class For Couples

Ok, we're cheating—the Northern Clay Center is in Seward, not in Southwest Minneapolis. But this event just sounds too cute to pass up! Head on over to learn some new techniques, or to just show off. Refreshments will be available from local restaurants.

Dance The Day Away

Looking for an old-school celebration? The is on Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Don't stay away because you don't know how to square dance—they'll start out with a lesson on the figures. 

Give A Little Heart

Why not celebrate the day by giving a gift that all hearts need—blood! The American Red Cross will be hosting blood drives across the Twin Cities, including drives at their office in Bloomington and their office in downtown Minneapolis.
