Fair Farm Rules Community Meeting

On Wednesday, September 21st from 7-8pm there will be a Fair Farm Bill Campaign community meeting at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2511 E Franklin Avenue in Seward. The meeting will be hosted by Food and Water Watch, a nonprofit working for healthy, sustainable food for all.

The goal of the Minneapolis Fair Farm Bill Campaign is to pressure Senator Klobuchar to support the 2008 Fair Farm Rules, which protect the profits of Minnesota's small farmers by creating a fair marketplace in which they can compete. The Fair Farm Rules also ensure that safe, healthy, and sustainable food options will remain on the shelves for consumers. Unfortunately, large agricultural companies lobbied successfully to kill the Fair Farm Rules. Senator Klobuchar sits on the Senate Agriculture Committee and has the power to stand up for small farmers, but she has yet to take a stance on the issue. We need to organize in support of small farmers and make our voices heard by Senator Klobuchar. Attend the community meeting on Wednesday, September 21st to learn how the Fair Farm Rules protect farmers and consumers, and to take action on behalf of Minnesota's farming backbone. All are welcome.
