Tilia Augtoberfest Block Party

For some, it might be their German heritage. For others, perhaps it's the promise of cooler temperatures in the dog days of summer. But whatever the reason, one day each summer, residents of the normally quiet and cozy Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis are so eager for the fun of an old-fashioned Oktoberfest, they simply cannot wait.

On August 18, the third annual "Tilia Augtoberfest" will take place in Linden Hills, giving residents and visitors a taste of the Bavarian tradition just a bit ahead of schedule. The outdoor event will ring in the release of this season's Oktoberfest beer varieties with homegrown bands and food that'll rock your taste buds. The zero-waste, family-friendly event also includes the Wild Rumpus kids are and lemonade stand run by the kids of Tilia with proceeds benefiting People for Parks. Music begins at noon and runs until 8 p.m. The lineup includes:

Melismatics
The Dead Pigeons
Narco States
Southside Desire
batteryboy
The Katy Vernon Band
Crankshaft
Kevin Bowe and The Okemah Prophets
Sleep Study

Admission is $3 and a portion of the admissions proceeds will benefit Linden Hills Power and Light.

Sponsors: The Current, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Local Color, Red Wagon Pizza, Patisserie 46, Harriet Brasserie, Bourget Imports, Hohensteins, TapMpls, and CoolScapes.
