The Midwest Independent Publishers Association (MIPA) October 2013 Meeting

Topic: “50 Shades of Printing and Distribution”

Date: Wed., Oct. 9, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m.
Where: The Carondelet Center (St. Catherine University Campus)

* New meeting location1890 Randolph Avenue
Cenacle Room 105
St. Paul, MN 55105

Details: Many of our authors & publishers have asked us how they can get their books distributed to bookstores, libraries, and other outlets across the country. The distribution landscape has changed dramatically over the years, and it has become much harder to connect with these institutions. The good news is that other forms of distribution have surfaced which allows authors' books to be available in the marketplace to anyone in most English-speaking countries.

Come hear Mark Jung, director of Itasca Books Distribution & Fulfillment in St. Louis Park, talk about what it takes to get into his book distribution system and what you can do now, even before your book is completed, to make that route easier.

Also on the panel will be authors who have used other forms of distribution (POD), such as CreateSpace, Lightning Source, and others. The strengths and weaknesses of each system will be highlighted to help authors/publishers determine which method is best for their business
