On Sunday, December 1, Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Minneapolis, will
open its doors to the public for an open
house and Thanksgiving/Christmas hymn sing, titled "Gratitude and
Expectant Joy." The open house begins at 3:30 p.m., when carols
will be played in the main auditorium and visitors will be offered a tour of
the main areas of the building, including the Sunday School. The
hour-long sing begins at 4:00 p.m. The event will include audience-participation
singing of Thanksgiving hymns and traditional Christmas carols, special
performances by accomplished vocalists, and live accompaniment by the church's
pipe organ and other instruments. Refreshments will be served following
the sing.
