Celebrate Memorial Day at Lakewood Cemetery
You’re invited to celebrate Memorial Day in a beautiful,
park-like setting at Lakewood Cemetery.
Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. features gospel quartet led by Robert
Robinson, music from the Minneapolis Police Band and a dove release.
Afternoon activities (noon to 3 p.m.) include World War I walking
tours given by the Friends of Fort Snelling, trolley tours of Lakewood’s
history, art and gardens, classical music concerts in Lakewood’s historic
chapel, horse-and-carriage rides around Lakewood’s oldest section with views of
Lake Calhoun, and refreshments in the garden area.

Ride the historic streetcar from Lakewood’s old streetcar
gate to Lake Harriet and back ($2 roundtrip), from the Minnesota Streetcar
Museum, 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Free and open to the public (except the $2
streetcar rides).
