Your One Chance To Get Yard Trash Picked Up

Did you look out the window at this weekend's snow and quietly despair?

Worry that the next time you saw that pile of brush and leaves you kept "forgetting" to get rid of, it would be a soggy, rotten springtime mess?

Fret no longer, unless, that is, you miss the city's one-time-only yard waste pickup this week. If you've got city rubbish pickup, set your yard waste out by the curb by 6 a.m. on Dec. 7. When you do, Minneapolis officials say you have to make sure:

  • Brush and branches are put into bundles. Individual branches must not be longer than 3 feet and no larger than 3 inches in diameter.
  • Bags must weigh less than 40 pounds.
