Will There Be A Snow Emergency In Minneapolis Today?

Large, fluffy snowflakes are floating down on the heads of Southwest Minneapolis residents Wednesday morning.

Looking out the window Wednesday morning, Southwest Minneapolis residents could be forgiven for wondering if a snow emergency might be in the offing. 

Large, fluffy snowflakes are floating down on the area, looking for all the world like a heavy snowfall. 

The short answer, though, is "No."

The National Weather Service predicts that those big flakes will only result in a half-inch of accumulation. If a snow emergency is declared, the City of Minneapolis will post a notice on its website and sent notifications to media outlets like Patch.
