Heat Wave To Last Until Wed.

Excessive heat watch started Saturday.

In the midst of thunderstorms and cool temperatures, it might seem odd to be starting the weekend with a heat wave warning.

This morning, the National Weather Service announced an Excessive Heat Watch for Minneapolis and surrounding areas, as temperatures are expected to stay in the mid- to high 90's through Tuesday. Overnight low's are expected to be in the 70's and 80's.

"The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible," the Weather Service warned.
