Southwest Farmers Markets Add New Vendors

Just a couple weeks from opening day, Kingfield and Fulton Farmers Markets are putting together an exciting spread for local food lovers.

Although spring officially started more than a month ago, the sign of the season that seals the deal for me is the opening of the city's vibrant farmers markets.

In Southwest Minneapolis, Kingfield Farmers Market will be joined this year by the new Fulton Farmers Market. The Fulton market celebrates its opening on Saturday, May 21. Kingfield opens Sunday, May 22. Both locations run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Seedlings, street food and early-season veggies will be available.

The markets are also welcoming some exciting new vendors. According to their newsletter, Kingfield is adding Gai Gai Thai to their street vendors. They're also welcoming a "new gluten-free baker, a chocolatier and a goat-cheese seller." Fulton will host bike-repair clinics, kids park activities and a host of street vendors.
