Severe Storm Alert Issued, 65 MPH Winds Possible

Storm hitting Southwest Minneapolis Sunday night.

Sunday night, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of the metro area, including Southwest Minneapolis. According to the alert, winds as strong as 65 miles per hour are possible.

The alert continues, warning of "quarter-sized" hail:

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM...PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH AND LARGE HAIL. SEEK SHELTER NOW INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING DESTRUCTIVE WINDS AND LARGE DAMAGING HAIL. SEEK SHELTER NOW INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS!
