Record Late Ice-Out for Lakes Calhoun and Harriet: Social Media Calls It

'Sunning in my bikini. And there's still ice on lake Calhoun. #impatient' (Monday is the latest date either lake has still had ice, according to state records.)

It looks like Southwest Minneapolis' two big lakes set records on Monday.

April 28, 1965 was the latest date for ice-out on both Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet—until 2013, that is.

That didn't stop one sign of spring, as the Minneapolis Park and Recreation board tweeted Monday:

Lake Harriet public boat launch is repaired and will open at 2 pm today. Calhoun and Nokomis opened Sunday. #gofish
