What Are The Minneapolis Snow Emergency Parking Rules?

Sunday afternoon, the City of Minneapolis declared a snow emergency.

The move will send tow trucks onto the streets to aid plow drivers' efforts to clear city streets routes. By 9 p.m. Sunday, any car parked on a snow emergency route is liable to be towed to the Minneapolis impound lot.

Do you live on a snow emergency route? Check the city's official map to make sure.

According to the National Weather Service, this storm is expected to dump 6 to 10 inches of snow on Southwest Minneapolis.

In addition to a ban on parking on snow emergency routes between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. on Monday, Sunday's declaration means:

• Drivers cannot park on the EVEN side of the street or on any parkway on Monday, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
• Drivers cannot park on the ODD side of the street on Tuesday, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
