Meet Our Bloggers at Southwest Minneapolis Patch

These folks have been kind enough to share their perspectives with us. We also have quite a few other bloggers signed up who just haven't posted yet, so check back!

Since the start of May, we've invited a number of Southwest Minneapolis residents to blog for us. They've written about everything from providing contraception to women in the third world to reviews of local restaurants.

These early bloggers have done such a good job stirring up respectful discussions that we wanted to introduce them to you (and invite you to apply to blog at Southwest Minneapolis Patch too).

: Elissa is a local poet and writer. She blogged for Patch about her recent trip to Washington D.C. as a citizen lobbyist on reproductive issues. She's also blogged about the local poetry scene.

The senior rabbi at Shir Tikvah, Latz has blogged a spiritual reaction to Bin Laden's death, the marriage ban and prayers for all sorts of mothers. Latz's eloquent writing has drawn, perhaps, the most dialogue of any blog we host.

She's a mother of two who's blogged at Patch about food, both restaurants and recipes, perhaps inspiring other Southwest residents to try new places across the west metro.

: He's co-owner of Yeti Records on Nicollet Avenue. He's blogged at Patch about local records he's run across. They sponsor quite a few events and in-store performances too, for those itching to get a feel for the Minneapolis music scene.

: A Fulton resident, Ryan has blogged about politics, but he also plans to write about sports, culture and parenthood.

: She is a classically-trained opera singer, but she's written for us about local food (the lemon curd crescent rolls seem especially tempting).

: Nelson will update our readers on events and community collaborations going on in the 6th Park District!
