Explore Your Heritage for Norwegian TV

Auditions take place Saturday.

If you were casting a reality TV show about Norwegian-Americans exploring their heritage, would you stop anywhere else but Minnesota?

That's just what the crew behind "Alt for Norge" (All for Norway) is doing on Saturday. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., hopeful Minneapolitans can show up at the Executive Center in the Mall of America, Level 4 East. To reserve a spot on the VIP list, email castingnorway@gmail.com, and complete an application, available online here

Contestants on the show compete in something that, according to the Star-Tribune, sounds like a snowy cross between Henry Louis Gates' "African-American Lives and "America's Next Top Model." One former local contestant—the show has featured at least four Minnesotans in previous seasons—had to compete in downhill skiing, street performing, and public speaking (in Norwegian) contests.
