Updated: Composition of Dog Park Citizen Advisory Committee

At the last meeting, the advisory committee on a Southwest Minneapolis dog park decided to expand the 19-member committee to a possible 27 members.

In case you missed it, Sheila Regan reported on the this week.

In addition to the members listed in this document, the committee decided at the meeting to add two members from Linden Hills, two members total from the Regina, Field, Bryant and Central Neighborhoods. The committee will also members from the Hmong, East African and African-American communities.

One reader asked how they were going to find representatives of these diverse communities.

Jennifer Ringold, Manager of Public Engagement and Citywide Planning for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, told Southwest Minneapolis Patch the following:

"The CAC agreed that a reasonable approach was to contact local agencies or known groups for each of the communities to extend an invitation."
