What Do You Want To See In Vacant Business Space?

Do you have a vision for a local vacancy?

Like every part of the city, Southwest Minneapolis has several commercial properties that are currently vacant. Which business sites would you most like to see re-occupied or redeveloped? What are the worst empty eyesores in your neighborhood?

"Visions for Vacancies (or Vacancy)" is a popular feature at other Patches such as Maple Grove Patch and Inver Grove Heights Patch. We've run a couple, too—highlighting to a mobile store and that .

What else in the area needs some love from business? What do you want to see go there? ()

We're open to just about anything across the street from our shop in the abandoned Super America at 40th & Lyndale. Deli, restaurant, coffee shop, brew pub, bike shop, art gallery, retail store, art studio, gardening shop, community garden... Mixed use with offices on an added second floor (for a neighborhood architecture firm?), like the old Jack's space. Let's partner and get something done! -Locus Architecture, info@locusarchitecture.com

Do you have information about what other vacant spaces are available? My husband is interested in opening a chiropractic practice in the area, so we're busy looking for good locations/vacant spaces to set up shop.

Good question—We'll do a survey next week, and post a map or a list! In the mean time, if anyone sees an open spot, post it below!
