The Malt Shop to Celebrate 40 Years in April

The restaurant has been serving up American style cuisine and malts since April 11, 1973.

Lynnhurst's The Malt Shop is gearing up to celebrate its 40th anniversary April 11, and as part of the celebration, the restaurant's prices will travel back to opening day in 1973.

The first 40 diners on April 11 will get a cheeseburger, fries and a malt for the 1973 price of $2.15. All others will get the meal for $2.99 while supplies last. In addition, a complimentary piece of cake will be served with every meal until it runs out.

  • Photo Contest: The Malt Shop is looking for the best old restaurant photos. Each entry will earn participants a 10 percent off voucher. The best entry will win a fee meal;
  • The special 40th anniversary t-shirt release is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 5, featuring local, 5-year-old artist, Annika;
  • April 16: party for former employees.
