Sun Street Breads Adds Dinner Menu

The popular Tangletown eatery takes advantage of rising popularity.

, the popular cafe at 46th and Nicollet, is expanding its offerings, much to the probable delight of its fans.

Not yet a year old, the eatery quietly began offering its dinner menu a couple of weeks ago. It was always in their plans, owners say, but now that the business has attracted a strong following, it seemed a good time to break out of their breakfast and lunch-only shackles (especially as they've now made the favorites list of Twin Cities foodie queen Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl).

"We're really happy to be here," said co-owner Martin Ouimet, husband to Sun Street's baker genius Solveig Tofte. "Especially because some other places in the neighborhood are a bit higher-end."

"We're really lucky to have Annette Colon in the kitchen," he quickly added with a grin. 

Colon is the former longtime chef at Lucia's in Uptown.

So far, dinner business has been a bit slow, say employees, but it's rapidly picking up.
