Move over Paris. Minneapolis is the place to be for bakeries.
The Salty Tart, located in the Midtown Global Market at 920 East Lake Street, came in at number 7. The Daily Meal noted the bakery’s brioche rolls, twice-baked ham and cheese croissants rosemary corn cakes and the cheddar jalapeno bread—as well as the wide-ranging dessert selection.
“Chef Michelle Gayer is known for her ‘crack-a-roons,’ or coconut macaroons, which Andrew Zimmern deemed better than his mom’s,” the article stated.
Meanwhile, The Daily Meal ranked Patisserie 46 as 26th on the list. The article noted the bread varieties at the bakery, located at 4552 Grand Ave. S.
“Minneapolis’ Patisserie 46 offers fancy pastries without the froufrou,” the article stated. “The bakery’s confections, like their chocolate bonbons and fleur de sel caramels, seal the deal.”
