It’s the perfect time of year for sweet corn!. Steam them, boil them, grill them or freeze them! Yes, freeze them! Give the corn a quick blanche and then cut it off the cob into freezer bags and have great sweet corn all year long!

Lots of cucumbers -- great for pickling!

Still lots of beets, too! Pickle them as well for a nice treat on cold winter days (they're coming, ya know).

Tons of tomatoes!

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts from Sunshine Harvest Farm and lamb brats from Star Thrower Farms

The Kingfield Farmers Market will have:

If the cooler weather's making you think about apples, Denny's got you covered with Zestars and more!  If you still want to soak up summer, don't worry, we've got plenty of sweet corn, tomatoes, and melons - Sun Jewel Melons, Sugar Baby Watermelons, & Athena Cantaloupe, to name a few (thanks Tiny Planet!).  Carmen and Peter have their 2012 salsas ready, and Sunshine Harvest Farm will be debuting boneless, skinless chicken breasts this weekend.

This weekend, instead of a cooking demo, we're taking it back to the basics.  Want to find out what some of the produce you see at the market tastes like without any fuss or frills?  Stop by the info tents for a small taste starting around 10.

PlantWorn Clothing and Groveland Confections will be at the market this weekend.  Anne Rucker of Bogart Loves made her return appearance last weekend and will be back for the rest of the season!

We're thrilled that the Roe Family Singers will be joining us again on Sunday thanks to Road Runner Records and MinnPost.
