New Fulton Eatery Gets Warm Critical Reception

Usually, a new restaurant needs a few weeks or months to truly hit its stride. Fulton's new Red Cow, though, seems to be an exception.

The burger and wine bar has already scored some warm reviews from the Twin Cities foodie publications. Some highlights:

Thrillest, which also snapped some mouth-watering photos, had this to say:

The heifers served in Red Cow probably wouldn't be so embarrassed if they knew that they'd one day be eaten in a stylishly industrial comfort-food haven.

Their fifteen burgers (which range from bison to lamb to duck) include the Manchego/ prosciutto/ piquilllo/ smoked aioli Barcelona, which you'll pronounce with a lisp, but only because your mouth is full of delicious burger.

Meanwhile, The Heavy Table had these take-aways from their first trip:

The bun, we are unafraid to say, is perfect. Perfect is a strong word, you say, not one that should be thrown around casually in reviews or in life in generally. So true. So we’ll, say it again: perfect. This is the ultimate burger bun...And that makes it kind of a tough act to follow. That the insides of the burgers don’t inspire the same level of accolades as the bun is really no knock on the burgers themselves. That bun is a lot to live up to.

A Southwest Journal columnist was so impressed, she submitted this note to her editors earlier this week:

It’s a blockbuster, all right. No longer the blue and yellow of the former movie-rental site, but the crimson of Red Cow, its new beer and-burger occupant, serving the hungry hordes patrolling 50th& France.
