Kingfield Boutique Now Carrying Local Designers

Better Than Ever changed ownership in September.

Kingfield locavores can now go even shorter distances to match their eating habits to their shopping habits at Better Than Ever, a resale boutique on the 4200 block of Nicollet Avenue South.

The store joins Windom's B. Resale and CARAG's June in sharing both recycled fashion and the works of local fashion designers with their customers.

Owner Arnetta Simpson-Dill, who bought the store from its previous owners in September after over a decade as an accountant, told Patch she decided to seek out new local items as a way to help Twin Cities designers.

"It's a win-win," she said. "Designers with a large following will bring new customers to a store where their work is being sold, and we help them sell their pieces without carrying all the overhead of a physical store."

So far, Better Than Ever carries the work of two locals—jewelry by Marsha Bruce and brightly patterned women's clothing by Judy Cooper Lyle.

Simpson-Dill said she plans on seeking out more local designers in the future to add to her store's catalogue.
