Java Jack's Building For Sale

Former home of East Harriet coffee shop-turned-eatery is being touted as a "trophy."

Could local restaurateur and businessman Jerry Nelson be trying to get out of the real estate business?

On July 17, Coldwell Banker Burnet posted a listing for 812 West 46th Street, the former home of , but Jack's, and now  and a prep kitchen for food truck empire .

In an email to Patch, Nelson said the building has been for sale "for some time," and he has signed a letter of intent with an unnamed prospective buyer. Nelson, himself, will be stepping away from the restaurant business and returning to real estate. He said he is currently affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Burnet's Minneapolis Lakes office.

The listing's curt description of the building as "a Southwest trophy available with a zero vacancy rental history" suggests future owners might be interested in continuing to rent the space as-is.

The asking price? A cool $1,475,000.
