Gourmet Burgers, Craft Booze Coming to Fulton

New restaurant will take the vacant Blockbuster building.

A new restaurant could be coming to the Fulton neighborhood, to the former home of Blockbuster Video.

Called The Red Cow, the prospective bar and eatery's owner helped open The Lowry restaurant in Uptown, his spokesperson told Patch earlier this month.

The Red Cow is his first independent restaurant, the spokesperson said.

According to the Southwest Journal, the restaurant will feature gourmet hamburgers, craft beer, and dozens of unique wines ranging from $6 to $32 per glass.

“People can try really fun wines they wouldn’t buy for their homes, because they would be too expensive,” owner Luke Shimp told the Journal. “The wines we are choosing are primarily American, and they pair really well with the gourmet burgers.”

The restaurant has yet to get its liquor license, but is aiming for a late winter or early spring opening in 2013.
