Developer Presents Plans For Senior Complex in Fulton

The $21.5 million project, at 50th and Beard, would have 90 units.

Developers of a proposed senior housing complex will present their plans Thursday, July 7, to the Fulton Neighborhood Association Zoning Committee. The 7 p.m. meeting is at Pershing Park.

Waters Senior Living, the developers behind Waters of Minnehaha, want to build a four-story, 90-unit complex on the former Werness Brothers/Washburn McReavy site, at West 50th Street and Beard Avenue South. The complex would include 62 assisted-living units, 21 memory-support units and seven care suites, along with 60 underground parking spaces and 10 street-level spaces. Twenty percent of the units would be designated as "affordable" housing.

The $21.5 million project would get the boost of 20 years, "pay-as-you-go" tax increment financing. Developers want to start construction in spring 2012 and open the complex the following spring.
