Will You Be Occupying Minneapolis?

Patch will be covering today's OccupyMN day of action, and we'd love to interview you if you're participating.

This afternoon, activists from OccupyMN will be holding a rally and an "occupation" of a home in Minneapolis' Powderhorn neighborhood. But this will be different from their previous efforts in the Hennepin County Government Plaza, activist say. This time, they say, they are gathering there to keep the house's owner from getting evicted. They say the owner, Bobby Hull, fell behind on his mortgage after some health problems.

"US Bank has refused to negotiate with him to keep him and his family in their home," OccupyMN activists said in a written statement. "If we do nothing he and his family are facing a February eviction, in the dead of winter, with nowhere to go."

Southwest Minneapolis Patch will be there, and we'd love to interview any of you Southwest residents there about why you're participating. If you're going to be there—or if you want to, but can't make it—email the editor at James.Sanna@Patch.com
