Will Minneapolis Finally Get Its Snowmageddon?
As of Monday night, weather forecasts look doubtful, but Delta is offering travel waivers.
Update 1:12 p.m. 2-28-12: It looks like "Snow-My-Not" rather than "Snow-My-God" here in Southwest Minneapolis, but that hasn't stopped Delta airlines offering passengers traveling today the ability to make one-time changes to flights without the usual fees.
Update 9:10 a.m. 2-28-12: The forecast keeps getting milder—the National Weather Service is now saying temperatures today are likely to hit 35, and only an inch of snow and sleet accumulation looks likely.
After months and months bereft of our usual snow cover, some Southwest Minneapolitans may have been crossing their fingers that Tuesday’s forecasted storm would turn out to be a whopper.

As of Monday night, the National Weather Service is forecasting a dismal one to three inches of snow accumulation on Tuesday. Snow is projected to last until 3 p.m., possibly mixed with sleet, and a high of 34 means conditions could get a little sloppy.

As Tuesday night wears on, though, federal forecasters think the storm could continue to dump moisture on the city, with three to five inches of snow and strong wind gusts possible. The storm is likely to stay with us until Wednesday evening, reports say.
