Where To Go For Halloween Fun?

There's a whole slew of Halloween events happening around town this weekend. What's near you?

It’s the time of year for ghosts and goblins, witches and werewolves. But with all the spooks about, there’s one thing you don’t have to worry about—finding something to do.

Patch has collected a list of activities around town for your Halloween enjoyment.

  • When: 6 to 9 p.m.  Friday and Saturday
  • Where: Queen Avenue South and West 42nd Street. All rides start at the Linden Hills Station.
  • Why go: Jump on the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line for a fun Halloween tradition that won't entirely spook you. Very popular, so get there early!
  • Price: Adults $4, Children 11 and under $3

  • When: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday
  • Where:  
  • Why Go: Head over to the annual Halloween party for 25 cent carnival games, door prizes, a moonwalk, treats, magic and puppet show. Costumes are encouraged but please ensure they are appropriate and not too scary. All youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please enter through the northeast door #17 on Abbott Avenue.
  • Price: $2

  • When: There will be two showings;
    • Lights out: Best suited for kids 10 and up, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday
    • Lights on: Open to all ages, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday

  • Why Go: Head under Anodyne Coffee House to Leonardo's Basement, where students have transformed the area into a Haunted House.
  • Price: $5

  • When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday

  • Why go: Community members are invited to take in the free workshops, while exploring the animal communicator, massages, intuitive readings, healings, astrology, and more.
  • Price: Free Admission, readings vary

  • When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: Bakken Museum, 3537 Zenith Ave. S. 
  • Why Go: Don your costume to explore science tricks and treats. See Science Magic with the 3M Wizards, take a haunted mansion tour and meet Frankenstein's Monster.
  • Price: Adults $7, Students/Seniors $5, Children under 4 are free

  • When: 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
  • Where:  
  • Why Go: Join Bobby Sullivan this Halloween weekend for an evening about Ghosts & Spirits.  Bobby's talk will keep you on the edge of your seat as he explains the phenomenon of ghosts, spirit attachments, possession, ghost hunting and crossing ghosts over to the other side. Also, learn how ghosts can show up in your life, how to tell if you have a ghost and what to do if you want to get rid of your ghosts.

  • When: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday
  • Where:  
  • Why Go: Head over to the park in your costume for Halloween games, a bonfire, magic shows, and refreshments.
  • Price: Free

  • When: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday
  • Where:  
  • Why Go: A costume party for all ages featuring Bat Collages with Abrakadoodle from 6 to 7:45 p.m., the magician Brodini at 7 p.m., and a themed room full of surprises and snacks.
  • Price: Free

Linden Hills Hay Fest

  • When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: Downtown Linden Hills, at 43rd and Upton
  • Why Go: New this year: actual hay! Come for the free horse-drawn hayrides around the Linden Hills village, stay for the face painters, photo opps (including one courtesy of Southwest Minneapolis Patch), and special fall sales. Shops will also welcome young trick-or-treaters.
  • Price: Free

Tangletown Halloween Haunted Home Tour

  • When: Family walking tour, 1 p.m. and a "PG-13" tour at 7 p.m.
  • Where: Start at staff parking lot.
  • Why Go: Tangletown residents have done up their houses for Halloween. Prizes will be awarded in several categories, determined by local celebrity judges. Just don't get lost in the neighborhood's twisting streets...
