Southwest Minneapolis looks set to become Southwet Minneapolis

Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the Twin Cities and much of southwestern Minnesota. A chain of rainstorms are forecast to stall over the region, dumping as much as two inches of rain in some places.

"Showers and thunderstorms will continue to expand today. Widespread rain is expected tonight with a swath of heavy rain across Minnesota. Looking ahead, a frontal boundary will stall out across the area, which will allow the active weather to continue across the region through the weekend."

But residents along Minnehaha Creek shouldn't worry about , said Telly Mamayek of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. First, she said, water levels behind the Gray's Bay Dam at the creek's headwaters would have to rise by "a couple feet more" before the flow becomes as unmanageable .

Instead, any flooding in Southwest Minneapolis is likely to come from the more pedantic case of .
