Hurricane Sandy might be almost 1,000 miles away from Minneapolis as it lashes the United States' eastern seaboard, but some local residents are experiencing a taste of what thousands of the storm's victims will undoubtedly be experiencing in the days to come.
According to Xcel Energy's power outage map, 115 homes in Southwest Minneapolis are currently without power.
The outages appear to be concentrated along the border between the Fulton and Armatage neighborhoods.
Power went out at 2:16, and restoration is expected shortly after 5 p.m.
The Xcel website did not list a cause.
