Mayflower Church To Host LGBT Leader Sunday
Michael Piazza lead the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, Texas
This Sunday, will play host to social justice advocate Michael Piazza. Piazza is the former pastor of the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas Texas. Under his leadership, the Cathedral expanded from 350 to 3,500 members and took on leadership roles in the national liberal Christian movement.
According to Mayflower's Rev. Howard Bell, Piazza has been consulting with Mayflower for the last year on ways to make help the church—already known for its local leadership in social justice circles—grow using its social justice work to draw new members, and "engage them more fully in their work in their collective and individual ministries."
Piazza will be preaching at both the church's 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.
