Groveland Confections' Sweet Treats

Groveland Confections offers a sweet counterpoint to the farm fresh vegetables readily available this time of year.

While all Farmers Markets are known for their fresh vegetables, Fulton and Kingfield Markets are known for their guilty pleasures as well.  From brownies to caramel sauce, Groveland Confections bring treats to market that are worth the calories.

Andrea Pesses makes small batches of candies and confections from scratch daily at the Groveland Confections kitchen, which is located behind their storefront in Minnetonka. The ingredients in Groveland Confections’ products are simple and fresh, without additives or preservatives.

What started out as a hobby and a way for Pesses to connect with her mom and grandma blossomed over time into a full-grown business. Nine years later, Pesses still takes time to work at the Kingfield Farmers Market.

“We’ve been at farmers markets since the beginning,” said Pesses.

This week the Groveland Confections booth was stacked full of delicious treats including coconut haystacks, caramel bars, moo pies, salted nut rolls, salted caramel brownies dipped in chocolate, dark chocolate coffee bark, whoopie pies, milk chocolate vanilla bean sauce and Jack Daniels caramel sauce.

Groveland Confections offers serving suggestions for their products as well. If you think a Jack Daniels caramel sauce sounds decadent on its own, imagine it drizzled over Brie cheese and accompanied by fresh fruits.

Nick Sanfratello was working this past Sunday handing out samples of caramel and chocolate sauces which customers seemed more than happy to accept.

Sanfratello has worked at other booths at farmers markets but he says he particularly enjoys working for Groveland Confections because of people’s enthusiasm for the confections. “It’s great because 99% of people love your product.” Sanfratello said.

You can find Groveland Confections at both the Fulton and Kingfield Farmers Markets. In case you need a fix between Farmers Markets, Linden Hills Co-op carries their products as well.
