Funny Water? Not to Worry, Says City

Some Southwest Minneapolis taps are running brown.

Live in the vicinity of Washburn High School, and worried about your tap water? Not to fear, says the City of Minneapolis.

According to the Star Tribune:

(City spokesperson Matt) Laible said the water is safe for drinking, bathing and cooking, explaining that the unusual hue “is from mineral deposits from inside the pipes” that are being dislodged as city crews work on a pump station in Southwest Minneapolis.

The discoloration should subside soon—if it hasn't already—as water flow stabilizes, Laible said.
