Bakken Museum Opens Doors For Free Saturday

Linden Hills science center joins growing list of museums offering monthly free days.

Spurred on by the end of a program offering free museum passes to library card holders around Hennepin County, The Bakken Museum decided to organize their own free days.

During their newly-named "Free Second Saturdays," the Linden Hills museum will greet visitors each month with a slate of special programming. Take this weekend, for example. According to an announcement from the museum:

On February 9th, The Bakken will be Partying Heart-y! In honor of American Heart Month, The Bakken’s very own Science Theater will be performing “Shocking News About Your Heart.” This show uses audience participation as well as some wacky historical characters to teach the audience about the electrical nature of the body. It also demonstrates the cardiac chain of survival; the steps to help someone suffering from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. In additional to fabulous science theater, there will be a valentine making station along with valentine robots, heart-rate realization activities, meditation activities and more!
