Flint Hills International Children’s Festival

345 Washington St, Saint Paul, MN | Get Directions »
$5.00

The Flint Hills International Children’s Festival, presented by the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, is a world-class festival that provides children and their families the opportunity to experience international puppetry, dance, music, drama, and more.

In its 12th year, the festival features artists from around the world, telling stories about different cultures through performing arts.  Not only is this one of the top children’s festivals in the world, it is also unique to Minnesota and something that inspires young people to be creative.

Indoors at the Ordway, Lowry Lab Theater, and Landmark Center, four sets of artists will perform multiple times on Saturday and Sunday.  A group of nine percussionists from seven different countries will mix traditional drumming with contemporary electronic sounds to create a unique musical experience.  There is also a Japanese play about a wolf and goat who form an unlikely friendship, a Canadian puppet show, and a story about the swashbuckling adventurer Zorro.  Each show is only $5 per ticket.

The festival also features free outdoor performances, arts and craft activities, and more in Rice Park, Landmark Plaza, and Hamm Plaza.
