Lakewood’s traditional Memorial Day service is held near the Soldiers Memorial monument inside the cemetery. See map of cemetery (PDF).
This year’s service will include:
- Governor Mark Dayton, address
- Gospel quartet led by Robert Robinson
- Minneapolis Police Band
- Dove release
- The playing of Taps
- Reading of General Logan’s Orders
- Color guard
Please note: The ceremony site can accommodate a limited number of folding chairs on pavement, so we welcome you to bring your own blankets or portable chairs for seating around the site.
