Stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy a brat from Clancey's Meat and Fish. Enjoy the music or browse the sidewalk vendors. And check out the displays from the Minnesota Streetcar Museum and the Minnesota Fire Engine Club!
The 37th annual Linden Hills Festival involves arts and crafts, a bike parade at 11 a.m. and a silent auction, among tons of other activities (check the PDF for the whole list). It's also a zero-waste event—last year they had about 4,000 visitors and about a 3/4 bag of trash at the end of the day. Everything else is composted or recycled!
Try your hands at games of skill and chance at the annual Armatage Carnival Friday, which will take place in the school from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It will include games for kids, toys and lots of food. All proceeds benefit Armatage Montessori School (where principal Joan Franks recently won a prestegious national award). There will also be a book sale, which includes used books for all ages. Kids will also be able to participate in a stuffed animal walk where they can bring home a new toy. Tickets are available at three tables around the school.
