Our morning began with a drive south to pick tomatoes with Project Leket. The Torah calls us to glean our fields for the poor. Under the blazing sun, we picked 700 kilos of tomatoes--enough for 350 families for the week. It is always good to do good!
We then traveled to the Kakadu artists studio for lunch & a workshop to make art. How beautiful this day was, to spend in acts of justice and healing and creation--a most powerful & holy response to the suffering we witnessed yesterday at Yad Vashem (the Holocaust Memorial)!
We are taught that the opposite of war is creation. May everyone have the sacred opportunity to nourish bodies with healthy food and souls with beautiful art!
Only a short post today, but tomorrow, we head south. More from Eilat in southern Israel...
