Watch Armatage Students Build Mosaic In One Minute
Temporary artwork was put together in eco-awareness initiative.
Ever think about how many plastic bottles you use in your daily life? Peanut butter, laundry detergent, water...you name it, there's probably a plastic bottle for it sitting in your recycling bin.
And what comes with those bottles? Caps, of course. Caps that, until earlier this year, couldn't be recycled in the Minneapolis municipal recycling program.
Partly funded by a grant, Armatage Montessori's Eco Awesomeness student group worked with artist Hallie Bowman (who also installed two new, permanent mosaics at the school) to make a temporary installation on the gym floor using caps the school's families collected throughout the last school year.
