Southwest Takes Down Titans in Girls Basketball
The Titans girls basketball team lost a close battle to Minneapolis Southwest 60-53 Tuesday.
In a game that see-sawed between 10-point leads for both teams, Minneapolis Southwest beat the Tartan Titans 60-53 Tuesday.
The Titans led for most of the first half, building several leads of up to 10 points with their balanced attack and solid defense.
But Tartan was unable to shake Southwest, who kept the game close with three-point shooting.
Southwest eventually took over late in the second half, applying a steady stream of pressure defense that the Tartans were unable to overcome.
Southwest senior Vinishia Jackson scored a whopping 26 points. Southwest freshman Naja Woods managed another 15 points.
Southwest's next game is Thursday at home against Minneapolis North.
