POLL: Is the Election Primary Schedule Fair to Minnesotans?

Minnesota Republicans will vote on Feb. 7 for their presidential nominee.

Iowa Republicans had their say Tuesday night, and voters in five other states will select their presidential nominee before Minnesota Republicans caucus, on Feb. 7. Voters in Colorado and Missouri are also convening that night.

It's not inconceivable that, by then, the Republican nominee will already be decided—in the media and the public's mindset, if not in the actual count of delegates necessary to secure the nomination.

Patch wants to know: Is the primary process, which staggers primaries and caucuses this year through June 26 (oh, poor Utah), unfair to democracy? Take our poll and give us your thoughts in the comments below.

  • Do the early caucuses in Iowa and elsewhere unfairly lock Minnesotans out of the democratic process?

    • No, we'll have greater impact on picking the real winner after the field is narrowed.
