It was a close-fought game, but Washburn High School managed to rally and keep Rocori at bay long enough to beat them in the first round of the Class AAA state championships.

The game was Rocori coach Bob Brink's last before retiring. Washburn was the top seed, and Rocroi the bottom seed going into this week's tournament.

Tomorrow at noon, Washburn will face off against the winner of this afternoon's game between St Paul's Johnson High School (20-8) and fourth seed Austin High School (23-5) in the Target Center.

FYI, Thursday's game is at Target Center at Noon rather then Williams Arena. Go Millers! Wear your blues.

It would be nice if you bothered to spell ROCORI right. Maybe you are dyslexic, but you are publishing in the media. Set an example for checking your spelling!! It's ROCORI nt ROCROI!!!!
