Meet The Most Famous Linden Hills Resident You Never Heard Of
Kevin Bowe started out as an amateur until Prince's producer heard him in a bar.
Southwest Minneapolis has many famous people. We can count computer security genius Bruce Schneier and members of the Minnesota Twins-owning Pohlad family as our neighbors.
According to the Southwest Journal, you can add another person to the long list of famous local residents: Kevin Bowe.
Starting as a young musician playing amateur music in bars and clubs, Bowe's songwriting and recording career was launched when mega-star Prince's producer heard the Linden Hills resident performing. One of his songs soon wound up on Kenny Wayne Shepherd's first album, which went platinum.
“That was when I quit my day job," he told the Journal.
Since then, he's performed with or written songs for everyone from Etta James, to The Replacements, to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
