Wednesday's park board meeting formed a Citizen Advisory Committee to report back on the 6th park district off-leash dog area. The committee is focusing on three park sites in the eastern side of the 6th park district, including Lyndale Park.

The committee composition is now made up of representatives from neighborhood organizations, parks and representatives of the Latino community, among others (click on the document below to see the board's composition). The committee will report back to the park board in 45 days.

The CIA for MLK should not be on the list because they do not reside in the 6th district. The Bird sanctuary is park staff and that person should reside in the 6th district. Is there a formal Latino organization in the district? If not, then they should not have representation.

Lets expand the number of sites to include the low grassy area south of the service-center wall next to Dupont Ave. in Lyndale Farmstead park. It's underutilized now.
