At long last, the Lyndale Avenue bridge over Minnehaha Creek looks set to reopen on schedule.

That's the word from the Nicollet-East Harriet Business Association, who has been monitoring progress on the bridge and the concurrent reconstruction of Lyndale Avenue since the bridge was closed in January. As the group wrote on its LyndaleReconstruction.com website on Wednesday:

(Workers) still have work to do on the manholes and sidewalks (including preparing the tree grates, preparing the medians, lighting etc.) so there will be a lot of movement of cones but access to businesses will be maintained throughout the changes and should actually be better as we move forward.

The bridge is scheduled to re-open on Oct. 15.
