Kingfield Utility Box Artist Reception Thursday

Come and meet the artists who photographed the wrappers that decorate utility boxes at 25 intersections across Kingfield.

Ever wondered who designed those brightly-colored wrappers on utility boxes around Kingfield? Now's you chance to meet them.

The Kingfield Neighborhood Association and owners of the Blackbird Cafe are hosting a reception for those photographers on Thursday, Dec. 16, from 6:00-7:30 p.m at 38th Street and Nicollet Avenue.

The boxes were the subject of a November article by Patch's Ashle Briggs Horton. She found that everyone from neighbors to Minneapolis City Council members appreciated the program.

Even though it cost less than $10,000, it's the sort of program that Minneapolitans will see less of as program funding for neighborhood groups disappears—so enjoy it while you can.
