Discover Theatre History Tour

Why Go: Hennepin Theatre Trust invites the public to take a peek into the
historic playhouses of the Hennepin Theatre District. Each walking tour visits one
playhouse which may include the State, Orpheum or Pantages Theatre providing
access to the theatres' interiors as well as details and a fascinating historical
perspective that the general public seldom gets while attending a regular event.
Guides spotlight architectural, historic and fun facts about these landmarks,
providing an insider's view to these majestic venues.

Winter Concert Series II: Music From Around the World Featuring Dmitry
Kouzov, cello
Where / When: Temple Israel, 2324 Emerson Ave S, Minneapolis, MN
Feb. 13, 2011, 4 p.m.
Why Go: A versatile performer, cellist Dmitry Kouzov has performed on five
continents with orchestras, in solo and duo recitals, and in chamber music
performances.
Price: Free; first come, first seated.

Harmony for Habitats
Where / When: St John's Episcopal Church, 4201 Sheridan Ave. S., Minneapolis,
MN
Feb. 13, 2 p.m.–4 p.m.
Why Go: This is a mid-winter gift of a benefit concert supporting organizations
that build or repair homes for those in need. Featuring Minnesota and St Paul
Chamber Orchestra members, including Tony Ross, Sarah Kwak, Kathy Kienzel,
Sabina Thatcher, Gina DiBello. Musical selections include chamber music
featuring the harp and Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings.
Price: $25-$50.

AcroYoga for Couples
Where / When: Devanadi Yoga Studio, 2822 W. 43rd St, Minneapolis, MN
Feb. 11, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
Why Go: This is an all levels workshop that will focus on using AcroYoga as a
tool to free up tension in the body and mind. Students will learn to fly and base
sequences of AcroYoga that incorporate Thai massage, giving and receiving.
We will learn ways to incorporate AcroYoga into a Thai massage session. We
will work in groups of two or three depending on the need for spotters. Some
yoga experience will be helpful but no experience is required. Taught by Alyssa

Handmade Arts From the Heart
Where / When: Barton Open School, 4237 Colfax Ave S, Minneapolis, MN
Feb. 12, 2011; 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Why Go: Support Barton's Community Education program, as well as local
southwest Minneapolis artists, designers and photographers who will have their
crafts available to the public. There will be performances by the Laura Balfour Dance Company, Shawn Gibbons and Brad McLemore. Vendors will also have
wholesome snacks for sale.
