Cheap After-School Care Offered By Minneapolis Parks

Rec Plus program opened their doors to parents this week.

With Southwest Minneapolis' schools back in session, parents' childcare worries suddenly got a lot more simple—but only partially. What do you do with your child once school is out?

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is offering one low-cost option, alongside the bevvy of camps, enrichment opportunities, and tutoring sessions offered by businesses across Southwest Minneapolis.

Called "Rec Plus," the after-school programs meet at the following Southwest Minneapolis parks:

The program costs between $8 and $10.75 per child per day, and offers the following according to an announcement from the Park Board: "active play, sports, arts and crafts, naturalist programming, field trips, self-directed play and nutritious snacks." Bussing from the program may be available depending on where you live. Call 612-230-6400 or e-mail recplus@minneapolisparks.org for more information.
